Artificial Intelligence Can Now Steal Your Passwords with 100% Accuracy

Hacking is becoming easier day by day, and now let’s explore how keyboard button presses are used for hacking.

Researchers from Cornell University have unveiled a novel approach involving AI tools capable of deciphering passwords based on keystrokes. This groundbreaking method involves training an AI model using keystrokes as audible cues. Subsequently, the AI model listens to these keystrokes and translates them into accurate passwords, demonstrating a remarkable 100% accuracy rate.

The researchers achieved this feat by employing a smartphone’s microphone to capture the sound of keystrokes. The captured sound is then replicated on a MacBook, enabling the AI model to precisely decipher the corresponding keystrokes with unparalleled precision.

In an intriguing experiment during a Zoom call, the team utilized the same technique to determine a user’s password. By analyzing the sound of the keystrokes, the AI achieved an impressive accuracy rate of 93%. A similar experiment conducted on Skype yielded a success rate of 91.7%.

While the advent of artificial intelligence has undoubtedly simplified various aspects of our lives, it has concurrently introduced new challenges, particularly in the realm of cybersecurity. The emergence of this innovative method serves as a reminder of the constant need for vigilance to prevent hacking attempts. To fortify your digital security against such threats, adopting various strategies is advisable. For instance, opting for a high-quality keyboard that produces minimal distinctive sounds can hinder the AI model’s ability to accurately discern your keystrokes, thus bolstering your overall security posture.
